On Wednesday, Northern Bulgaria was hit by powerful storms and hailstorms, causing significant damage to agricultural production and civil infrastructure. The most affected regions were Veliko Tarnovo, Loveshko, Sliven, and the village of Mechkarevo. The hail damage varied in size from hazelnut to walnut. The storm destroyed crops such as peaches, corn, and others in Mechkarevo, and also hit gardens in Gavrailovo. No injuries were reported, but farmers express dissatisfaction with the lack and quality of hail battle rockets, and are wary of insurance companies. The mayors of the affected villages are calling for government action to support the farmers.
