President Prabowo Subianto received a report from Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sudaryono, on food security and price stability of basic necessities. The government is committed to maintaining national agricultural production to remain a surplus amidst a food crisis in other countries. Indonesia is projected to have a rice surplus of 2.8 to 3 million tons by April 2025, with a long-term goal of an annual surplus of 5 to 6 million tons to avoid rice imports. The government also discussed accelerating the agricultural process, role of the Red and White Village Cooperative in distributing agricultural products, and reducing rice prices for consumers.
