The article highlights the transportation of five double-cantilever automated rail cranes from China to Peru for the Puerto Chancay project of Cosco Shipping Ports. Manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), these cranes are part of ZPMC's equipment supply for the project's first phase, which also includes six remotely controlled quay bridges, various gantry cranes, and other equipment. The project, starting construction in August 2023, aims to develop a new, large-scale port near Peru's natural deep-water port, with an initial capacity for container ships up to 200,000 tons. The cranes are equipped with advanced technology for automated and intelligent terminal operations, promising improved efficiency. This project, the first major Chinese transportation infrastructure in Peru, is a significant addition to South America's Pacific coast logistics hubs, enhancing the region's international trade.
