Ukraine's apple production in 2024 has seen unusual circumstances, with the industry adapting to seven years of systematic exports but being significantly impacted by both war and natural disasters, as highlighted by Vladimir Gurzhiy, director of USPA Fruit. The season has brought about a smaller harvest, leading to higher apple prices across the fresh fruit and processing markets, which have been gradually increasing since the season's start. This has resulted in increased competition among processors, retailers, and exporters, affecting the availability of high-quality apples in the mass market.
